Trying living near the pub, it’s a totally different view to the ones above.
The noise pollution varies from banging music which is that loud windows and doors shake, to people going home in cars and slamming doors shut, to people standing around smoking or shouting goodbye to each other for nearly an hour. This begins at 8pm and ends around 3am. As you can imagine it’s worse on Friday and Saturday nights and the drunker they are, the louder they are. It would help if the landlords cracked down on this behaviour but they don’t I have even seen people drinking out of glasses and bottles on the High Street as well as fighting and being sick!!!

The Globe pub at the bottom end of Glossop’s High Street, its great if you want a few quiet drinks in the beautiful garden or for a night out at the weekend upstairs in the lift , which hosts everything from music DJ’s to comedy acts. Also with its wide range of interesting ales brewed especially by the landlords paired with the friendly staff, and the home cooked vegan menu the globes a winner an all round 10/10

The Globe is a pub of many varieties, with an upstairs space for bands, dj nights and all sorts. Downstairs is more like a gathering of everyone and everything. Some rum looking people drinking and having a good old shin dig, but they’re always friendly. The entertainment upstairs varies wildly from rave nights with uv paint to Irish folk bands with drunk old men trying to dance. Upstairs can get very busy and cramped but there is always the beer garden to relax in if you want to.
