Waterworth

My Great-Great Grandfather was supposedly from Wales before he moved to Hadfield with his wife Elizabeth Cunliffe (we only know that she was from somewhere in England)   Some researchers have told us that James is from Stockport, but we believe it’s Wales for some reason…I can’t recall the connection as to why. We had not gotten past our Great-Great Grandfather, James Waterworth, from Wales (or Stockport) as we have been focusing on Nathaniel in England and don’t have much to go off of as far as siblings of his parents.  I believe we would need a birth certificate for James’ information on his parents.  We really need to know if James was, in fact, from Wales or not to go further on him.  We might have living relatives there still and have no idea if James and Elizabeth (his wife) had siblings, or not.

Here is where I really lose track: GG Grandfather is James Waterworth (approximate birth is 1857) who married Elizabeth Cunliffe (May also be spelt Cunliff, approximate birth year 1856 possibly born in Hyde). I think they were married in Stockport? On November 4, 1882, in Hadfield, Derbyshire, they had a son Nathaniel J. Waterworth (we believe his middle name is James after his father or Joseph). Can anyone help?
